Starting Suit

The first player to go will place down a card of any suit, and all other players must match that suit unless they have run out of cards in that suit. This is how spades must be broken.

What is a Trick???

A trick is the name for all the cards played during a round that will be won by a player.

Breaking Spades

A card in the Spade suit can not be played as a starting card in a round unless a Spade card has already been played in a previous trick

Scoring

After all players have used up all their cards, The amount of tricks won by a team are counted. Then if the team has made their original bet, then they multiply that number by 10 and add any additionally won tricks to that number. If a team did not make their bet they win zero points for that round.

Order of play

1.
Deal out cards, bet as a team, and then start play counter-clockwise with the person to the left of the dealer

2.
Play goes with the first player setting the suit of the round and every player placing down a card of that suit until every person has gone

3.
At the end of the round, the highest card wins the suit, unless a spade trumps it. If two spades are played, the highest one wins the trick.

4.
The winning player takes the trick and places it in a seperate place to be counted at the end of the round

5.
Play continues starting with the player who won the last set until all cards have been played. Then players calculate the scores won that round.

6.
Repeat steps 1-5 until one team has reached the decided winning points.
